작년 9월부터 캐나다에 살게 되면서 영어 원어민들의 일상대화속에 녹아 있는 숙어표현들이 관심을 가지게 되었습니다. 제일 처음 아이디어는 하루에 하나씩 숙어를 그림과 함께 달력형식으로 넘기면서 공부할 수 있는 탁상용 달력을 만들면 어떨까였습니다. 그러다 가지고 온 태블릿으로 직접 삽화를 그리고 문장과 대화문을 붙여가면서 4개월간 이 책의 작업을 끝냈습니다.
가장 어려웠던 부분은 숙어의 뜻을 그림으로 쉽게 재미있게 나타내는 것이었습니다. 그 동안 여러책을 출판했지만 자가출판으로 그리고 삽화도 직접 그리면서 편집작업까지 꼼꼼하게 한 정성을 들인 책입니다. 독자여러분들도 이 책으로 원어민처럼 영어 말하기 실력을 쌓아보세요! |
