고려대학교 대학원에서 조선 중기 누정기에 관한 연구로 박사 학위를 받았다. 고려대학교 민족문화연구원 연구교수를 거쳐 현재 강원대학교 한문교육과 교수로 재직하고 있다. 주로 조선 시대 한문산문을 연구하며 오늘날 젊은이들이 시대를 고민하고 인생을 성찰할 수 있는 옛글을 소개하고 있다. 저서로는 『나를 돌아보는 서재』, 『누정기를 통해 본 한국한문산문사』, 『전, 불후로 남다』, 『강원의 누정 문화』(공저) 등이 있다.
Ahn Se-hyun is a Professor of Chinese Classics Education at Kangwon National University. He authored books such as Nujeonggi-reul tonghae bon hanguk hanmun sanmunsa (A History of Korean Sinographic Prose Examined through Pavilion Writings), Jeon, bulhu-ro namda: joseon munin-i girokhan 33 in-ui sam (Timeless Biographies: The Lives of 33 Figures from the Joseon Dynasty), and Na-reul dora-boneun seojae: joseon munindeul-ui gonggan-eseo insaeng-ui gil-eul chatda (Reflections at the Study: Discovering Life’s Path through the Spaces of Joseon Writers).
