맨큐, 테일러, 크루그먼, 버냉키 등과 함께 가장 유명한 경제학 교과서의 저자이자 이 시대 최고의 경제학 멘토 중 하나로 불리는 로버트 프랭크는 현재 아이비리그 명문인 코넬대학교 존슨경영학대학원의 경제학 교수이자 경영학 교수로 재직 중이다. 조지아공대에서 수학을 전공했으며, 버클리에서 통계학 석사와 경제학 박사를 취득한 독특한 이력의 소유자다. 30년 넘게 경제학 개론을 강의해왔으며, 애플 우수강의상, 러셀 우수강의상, 경제학의 지평을 넓힌 학자에게 주는 저명한 경제학상인 레온티에프 경제학상 등을 받았으며, 미국 동부경제학회 회장을 역임했다.
