샐리 티스데일은 『Violation』, 『Talk Dirty to Me』, 『Stepping Westward』, 『Women of the Way』등 다양한 작품을 저술했다. 푸시카트 문학상(Pushcart Prize), 국립예술기금 연구원(NEA Fellowship), 제임스 D. 팰런 문학상(James D. Phelan Literary Award)을 받았고, 숀펠트 객원 작가 시리즈(Schoenfeldt Distinguished Visiting Writer Series)에 연사로 초청받았다. 티스데일의 작품은 『Harper’s』, 『The New Yorker』, 『The Threepenny Review』, 『The Antioch Review』, 『Conjunctions』, 『Tricycle』에 실렸다. 문학상 수상자로서 작가 경력 외에, 티스데일은 완화의료 분야에서 십 년을 포함해 간호사로 오랫동안 종사하고 있다. 현재 오리건 주 포틀랜드에서 살고 있다.
