Author/Illustrator Mike Venezia has been getting to know the world's greatest artists for as long as he can remember.
A graduate of The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, Mike belives the best way to introduce kids to art and artists is through fun. If kids can look at art in a fun. If kids can look at art in a fun wqy, and think of artists as real people, the exctiting world of art will be open to them for the rest of their lives. Mike lives in a Chicago suburb with his wife, Jeannine, and children Michael Anthony and Elizabeth Ann.
After learning of Henri Matisse's leadership in the Fauve[Wild Beast] movement, whose artists used brilliant, aggressive colors, Mike was anxious to start his own school of art. Unfortunately, Mike's group, Les Petits Lapins Ternes[ The Dull Bunnies] known for its stagnant murky colors and boring subject matter, never really caught on. Mike is shown on the lift encouraging some of his young followers.
