Ms. Lee Kyung-ae is a prolific writer and the director of Bukchon Museum Old Fragrance in Seoul, Korea. Her many books include An Audio Collection of Buddhist Folk Tales, The World’s Most Precious Treasure, Joyous Picnic, Mindful Offerings: Korean Mountain Temple Cuisine, Temple Meals and Their Stories
Ha Jikwon has been a professional photographer specializing in Buddhism since 2000. He focuses on the “visualization of Korean Buddhism.” His photos regularly appear in the monthly Buddhist magazine, Bulgwang. He is working with the project for the designation of traditional Korean temples as UNESCO World Heritage sites.
His photos illustrate the following publications: From Bukchon, Seoul, Seonjae Sunim’s Stories about Temple Food, Mindful Offerings: Korean Mountain Temple Cuisine, Episode India, Korean Buddhism, and 6 Ways to the Heart.
Jinsuk Lim Tedesco was born in Korea. She grew up vegetarian in a spiritual household, practicing yoga, meditation and fasting guided by her father who is a holistic teacher and healer. Jenny earned degrees in English from Keimyung University in Daegu and Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington. She interpreted for the International Broadcasting System(IBC) during the 1988 Seoul Olympics, the Korean National Commission for UNESCO and the Korea International Cooperation Agency. She has translated several books into Korean: Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior(2015), The Buddha's Apprentices(2006) and Blue Jean Buddha(2001).
Frank first went to Korea as a Hansen's Disease(leprosy) control worker in the US Peace Corps in 1980(K51). He was Consulting Editor of the Korea Journal of the Korean National Commission for UNESCO 1988-1992. After years of graduate school at the University of Lancaster in the U.K. and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, he went on to become the first American to earn a doctorate in Buddhist Studies at Dongguk University(1998). His dissertation was a comprehensive examination of abortion and auspicious rebirth ceremonies for the unborn dead in Korea He is also a Life Member of the Royal Asiatic Society, Korea Branch.
