As we begin this journey through Romans, I want us to keep one thing in mind. It is certainly important to gain a logical understanding of biblical knowledge. But more than that, I want each word of this letter to come alive in our hearts. I want us to live out this message by faith, not merely understand it in our minds. Even if it takes time, I hope we can patiently examine and embrace the essence of this truth together.

So, who is the righteous person? The righteous person is the one who stands at God’s right hand. The one who experiences God’s power and blessings at His right hand is truly righteous. A righteous person is someone who obey God’s Word. In order to obey, the barrier of sin that separated us from God had to be torn down. Jesus accomplished this by fully atoning for our sins with His precious blood. He mediated for us so that we could be united with God.

clothed in pure righteousness. This is the very essence of Jesus’ work on the cross. Therefore, simply remaining in the mindset of saying, ‘I was forgiven! I am going to heaven! I am fine now!’ is not true faith.
Such a faith is, in fact, a distorted one. God’s purpose in saving us is not merely to forgive our sins. Rather, His desire is to forgive us through Jesus Christ, to restore our relationship with Him through Jesus as our mediator, and to lead us to walk continuously abide with Him under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
