I had not been more than two months in England with my family, when I felt I should lide to go off to sea once more. So I took ship, and set sail on the 20th of Jun, 1702.

This time our ship was bound for the East. When we reached the Cape of Good Hope, the captain fell ill, and we had to stay there long.

When at last we set sail, a fierce storm attacked us. It raged for weeks and blew us far out of course.

One day there was a shout of "Land! Land!" and we woon came in full view of a great shore.
