1. 의성어와 의태어
swishy swashy : 긴 장대 풀들이 바람에 날리면서 나는 소리, 사람과 마찰되면서 나는 소리. (쉭쉭 삭삭~~)
splash splosh : 물에서 첨벙대는 소리. (첨벙첨벙)
squelch squerch : 진흙탕 따위에서 철퍽거리며 걷는 소리.(철퍽철퍽)
stumble trip : 비틀비틀, 휘청거리며 걷는 모습. (여기인지 저기인지 헤메는 듯한)
hoooo woooo : 눈보라가 몰아칠 때의 소리. (후우~~우우~~)
tiptoe : 뒤꿈치를 들고 살짝 걷는 듯한 모양.

2. 반복되는 문장
문장이 많고 긴 것 같지만 매 장마다 반복되는 문구가 많이 등장합니다. 반복되는 문장만 잘 알아도 책을 무난하게 읽을 수 있습니다.

We're going on a bear hunt.
We're goning to catch a big one.
What a beautiful day!
We're not scared.
We can't go over it.
We can't go under it.
Oh no! We've got to go through it!
