How are you positioned for achieving the things you most desire? If you keep living the same way you have been, do you think things are really going to change? Do you find yourself regretting wasted time and missed opportunities? You’re not alone! I used to feel that way too until I learned to harness the true power and potential of TODAY. (p. 11)
Every athlete has the potential to be a winner. None of them will reach that potential without practicing the skills needed in their sport. Athletes are a ‘prime example’ of people who know about the power of being prepared. They don’t go to a game without priming themselves mentally and physically with practice. All their practice and preparing themselves puts them in position for a greater potential of winning. (p, 42) Opportunities that come our way are life taking a chance on us. Will we play along and take a chance on life by exploring the opportunities it presents? Will we prove that we were worth the chance that was offered? (p. 92) Many of us are waiting around for opportunity to come to us, but we also need to pursue it and do some asking, seeking and knocking ourselves. We need to actively pursue new opportunities and create our own. (p. 141) The pain of training and discipline is small compared to regret. As Jim Rohn says, “The pain of discipline weighs ounces where the pain of regret weighs tons.” A lot of people can’t give up small things for their big dreams. You have the choice of either the pain of training yourself or living with what you have. If you’re happy with what you’ve got, that’s fine, but if you want more, then you have to put in more. Development happens over time. The prime example is a fit person. You can’t fake fitness, right? You can’t pay somebody to do your workouts for you. It’s the same thing with development ?you’ve got to go through the pain of training and discipline to reap the results. (p. 159) Assessment is life’s most important navigation tool. It’s like a compass that shows if you’re on course or not, a tool that you can use to take you where you need to go. To assess something is to evaluate the quality or ability of it. (p. 173) Small successes help generate the power to get the bigger engine of our dreams running! Each little thing you do towards your goal creates a positive energy in you that gives you the fuel you need to work on the next one. (p. 217) This concept of really serving others and delivering value to them first can be very foreign sometimes. We are taught to look after ourselves first, but when you put others ahead of yourself, you will find that things will go well for you. It’s a success principal that most of the ‘truly successful’ people know and live by. (pp. 228-229) Love’s rewards can’t be taken away from you. You can lose money and things, but the worth of peace, a clear conscience, and the appreciation and affection of others, can’t be measured, or taken away! When you submit to the power of serving others in love, your Yield will be greatly increased! (p. 234) --- In the Book |
