서울에서 태어나 서울예술대학 문예창작학과를 졸업했습니다. 1982년 중앙일보 소년중앙문학상에 동화로 등단하였으며, 1992년 한국일보 신춘문예에 소설이 당선되었습니다. 지금까지 동화와 청소년을 위한 소설 창작에 애쓰면서, 독자에게 좋은 책을 소개하기 위해 번역한 외서들까지 합하면 그 결과물이 총 삼 백여 종에 이릅니다. 그동안 지은 책으로 『상계동 아이들』, 『행복하다는 건 뭘까?』, 『어린이 탈무드』, 『우리 아빠는 내 친구』, 『동화책을 먹은 바둑이』, 『어린이 인문학 여행』(전3권), 『철수는 철수다』, 『노경실 선생님이 들려주는 학교생활 안전』, 『노경실 선생님이 들려주는

who laughed and cried together with refugee children 《No More Tears for Us, Mom》tells us about the realities of what North Korean refugee children experience daily. In this book, Ms. Noh depicted the life of a ten-year-old boy named Gan-cheol who had escaped from North Korea with his parents. She tells her story in a way that South Korean children can understand. At the same time, the author tells the refugee children, “Children, my children, you overcame all the warlike hardships to get here! You must know from your experience that there are more kind people here in the South, right? I know it is hard for you still, but don’t lose your courage and patience. Let’s move ahead toghther! Hold my hand and never let go!” Thus, Ms. Hoh shows our children the meaning of getting along. At the same time, she prompts us to think about “What does it mean to live like a human being?” |
