저자 소개

세네카 (Lucius Annaeus Seneca)
BC 4(?)~AD 65. 에스파냐 태생의 고대 로마 철학자, 극작가. 코르도바(Cordoba) 출생.
유명한 변론술학자(辯論術學者)인 아버지의 권유에 따라 정치가가 되기 위한 교육을 받았으며, 젊은 시절부터 웅변가로서 명성을 날렸다. 스토아학파의 철학자로 네로(Nero) 황제의 스승이 되었지만, 후에 반역(反逆)의 혐의를 받고 자결하였다. 주요 저서에 <메데아 Medea> <아가멤논 Agamemnon> 등이 있다.
