저자 소개

Friedrich Nietzsche (1844?1900) was a German philosopher, philologist, poet, and cultural critic. He is best known for challenging traditional moral and religious values, famously declaring that "God is dead." Nietzsche deeply explored the meaning of human existence, proposing the concept of the "Ubermensch" (Overman) to advocate for self-created values. His major works include Thus Spoke Zarathustra and Beyond Good and Evil. While confronting the problem of nihilism, he emphasized the affirmation of life and expressed a powerful will to live. Plagued by health issues from a young age, he eventually suffered a mental breakdown and spent his final years in silence. His ideas have profoundly influenced 20th-century philosophy, literature, and art. Even today, Nietzsche's philosophy continues to inspire those seeking to understand the essence of existence and the pursuit of freedom.
